Jebusites

The Jebusites were, according to the Hebrew Bible, the Canaanite people who inhabited Jerusalem, then called Jebus, before King David captured it and made it his capital. The Bible lists them among the peoples of Canaan and says that some continued to live in the city alongside the Israelites. Outside the Bible they are not clearly attested, and their origins are uncertain.
