Kamose

d. c. 1550 BCE · 16th century BCE

Kamose was the last king of the Seventeenth Dynasty of Egypt, ruling from Thebes. He campaigned north against the Hyksos and reached the walls of their capital Avaris, as recorded on his stelae at Karnak. His successor, probably his younger brother Ahmose I, completed the expulsion of the Hyksos and reunited Egypt.
