Kandariya Mahadeva Temple

c. 1030 · 11th century

The Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is the largest and most elaborate Hindu temple at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, India, built around 1030 under the Chandela dynasty and dedicated to Shiva. Its soaring spire of 84 miniature towers and its hundreds of finely carved figures, including erotic sculptures, make it a masterpiece of the northern Nagara style.
