Kant (Kyrgyzstan)
Kant is a town in the Chüy Valley of northern Kyrgyzstan, about 20 kilometres east of Bishkek, whose name means sugar in Kyrgyz, after the sugar refinery around which it grew. A former Soviet airfield there has been used as a Russian air base since 2003 under the Collective Security Treaty Organization, while a US base operated at Manas airport near Bishkek until 2014.
