Kapara

c. 10th–9th century BCE · 9th century BCE

Kapara was a king of Guzana, the Aramaean kingdom of Bit-Bahiani at Tell Halaf in north-eastern Syria, probably in the 10th or 9th century BCE. He built a palace whose entrance had colossal statues of deities standing on animals, and whose walls were lined with dozens of carved stone reliefs, excavated by Max von Oppenheim.
