Karur

Karur is a city on the Amaravati River, near the Kaveri, in Tamil Nadu, India. Most historians identify it with Vanchi or Karuvur, the inland capital of the early Chera kings in the Sangam age, and finds there include Roman coins and early Tamil inscriptions. It is now a centre of textile manufacturing.
