Kongu Nadu
Kongu Nadu is the historical region of western Tamil Nadu in India, around the modern cities of Coimbatore, Erode, Salem and Karur. A fertile upland crossed by trade routes between the east and west coasts, it was fought over by the Cheras, Pandyas, Cholas, Hoysalas and later Vijayanagara and Mysore. Finds of Roman coin hoards show its importance in ancient trade.
