Keryneia
Keryneia, or Ceryneia, was an ancient town of Achaea in the northern Peloponnese, in the hills south of Helike. Pausanias records that refugees from Mycenae settled there after Argos destroyed their city in the 5th century BCE. In the 270s BCE its tyrant Iseas resigned and the town joined the refounded Achaean League, and Margus of Keryneia became the league's first sole general in 255 BCE.
