Khababash

fl. c. 338–336 BCE · 4th century BCE

Khababash was an Egyptian ruler who led a revolt against Persian rule in the Nile Delta in the late 330s BCE, probably during the turmoil that followed the murders of Artaxerxes III and Artaxerxes IV. He is known from a few documents, including the Satrap Stela of Ptolemy I, which records a land grant he made to the gods of Buto. Persian control was restored under Darius III before Alexander's arrival.
