Nile Delta
The Nile Delta is the broad, fertile region of northern Egypt where the Nile divides into branches before reaching the Mediterranean. It has been one of the most productive agricultural areas in the world. Its surplus provided the financial foundation for Saladin's campaigns and the court of the Ayyubid Empire.
