Khalilullah I

r. 1417–1465 · 15th century

Khalilullah I was Shirvanshah from 1417 to 1465, son of Ibrahim I of the Derbendi line. His reign of almost half a century gave Shirvan its longest period of peace and prosperity, based on silk, oil and Caspian trade. He completed much of the Palace of the Shirvanshahs in Baku, and in 1460 his forces killed the Safavid leader Shaykh Junayd in battle.
