Kingdom of Israel
The Kingdom of Israel was the northern Israelite kingdom of the Levant, with its capital at Samaria. It was conquered by the Assyrian Empire around 720 BCE, and much of its population was deported in line with Assyrian resettlement policy. Its fall is a well-known example of Assyrian impact on the peoples of the region.
