Kiso River
The Kiso is a river of central Honshu, Japan, about 230 kilometres long, flowing from the mountains of Nagano Prefecture through Gifu and Aichi to Ise Bay. With the Nagara and Ibi it forms the Kiso Three Rivers, whose flood-prone delta was the scene of major Edo-period embankment works such as the Horeki river works of 1754–55. Its upper valley was known for cypress timber.
