Kralice Bible

1579–1593 · 16th century · Also known as Bible of Kralice

The Kralice Bible is the first complete Czech translation of the Bible from the original Hebrew and Greek, made by scholars of the Unity of the Brethren and printed at Kralice nad Oslavou in Moravia in six volumes between 1579 and 1593. Its language became the model for literary Czech, and it remained the standard Protestant Czech Bible for centuries.
