Kyauktaw
Kyauktaw is a town in Rakhine State, western Myanmar, on the Kaladan river north of Sittwe. The ruins of two early Arakanese capitals, Dhanyawadi and Waithali, lie nearby. Dhanyawadi was the original home of the Mahamuni Buddha image, which was carried off to Amarapura after the Burmese conquest of Arakan in 1784.
