Kyawswa I of Pinya

r. 1344–1350 · 14th century

Kyawswa I was king of Pinya in central Burma from 1344 to 1350, a son of Thihathu, founder of the kingdom. His reign fell in a period of rivalry between Pinya and the breakaway kingdom of Sagaing, ruled by his half-brother's line. He was succeeded by his sons, and Pinya was sacked by Shan forces in 1364, after which Ava replaced it.
