Saw Yun
Saw Yun was the founder of the Sagaing Kingdom in Upper Burma. A son of Thihathu, ruler of Pinya, he quarrelled with his father and in 1315 set up his own court at Sagaing, across the Irrawaddy, which became a rival to Pinya for half a century. He ruled until his death in 1327; the two kingdoms were united in 1364 when Thado Minbya founded Ava.
