Lady K'ab'al Xook
Lady K'ab'al Xook was the principal wife of Itzamnaaj B'ahlam, the Shield Jaguar king of the Maya city of Yaxchilan, in the late 7th and early 8th centuries. She commissioned the carved Lintels 24 to 26 of Structure 23, which show her drawing blood from her tongue and conjuring a vision serpent. They are among the finest Maya reliefs, some now in the British Museum.
