Lake Miramar
Lake Miramar is a lake in the Lacandon Forest of eastern Chiapas, Mexico. In the 16th century its island town of Lacam Tun was the stronghold of the Ch'ol-speaking Lacandon Maya, who raided Spanish-held areas until an expedition destroyed it in 1586. It is now a protected area known for its clear waters and surrounding rainforest.
