Larnaca

Larnaca is a port city on the south coast of Cyprus, built over ancient Kition. Kition was a Late Bronze Age copper-working town, then a Phoenician city-kingdom from the 9th century BCE and the birthplace of Zeno, founder of Stoicism. Under Ottoman rule Larnaca was the island's main port and home of the European consuls, and today it has Cyprus's main international airport.
