League of Lezhë

1444 · 15th century

The League of Lezhë was an alliance of Albanian noble families founded at Lezhë in March 1444 under the leadership of Skanderbeg, with Venetian-protected Lezhë as its meeting place. Members such as the Dukagjini and the Crnojević of Zeta pledged men and money for war against the Ottoman Empire, though the alliance soon weakened through rivalries.
