Skanderbeg
Skanderbeg, born Gjergj Kastrioti, was an Albanian lord who served the Ottomans and in 1443 broke with them and took Krujë. In 1444 he formed the League of Lezhë with other Albanian nobles and for twenty-five years resisted Ottoman campaigns, including sieges of Krujë. Albania fell to the Ottomans within a decade of his death.
