Legend of Saint Gerard
The Legend of Saint Gerard is a Latin life of Gerard, the Venetian-born first bishop of Csanád, who was killed in a pagan uprising in 1046. Its longer version, the Legenda maior, compiled in the 14th century from earlier material, is the main source for the ruler Ahtum and his defeat by King Stephen I of Hungary. It also describes the bishop's missionary work in the Mureș region.
