Leviathan

Leviathan is a sea monster of the Hebrew Bible, described in the Psalms, Isaiah and the Book of Job as a serpent or dragon of the sea overcome by God. The figure derives from older Canaanite tradition: Ugaritic texts of the Late Bronze Age tell of the defeat of Lotan, a seven-headed sea serpent, in phrases echoed almost word for word in Isaiah 27:1. In later Jewish and Christian thought Leviathan became a symbol of chaos and evil.
