Limassol
Limassol is a port city on the southern coast of Cyprus and the island's second-largest city. It grew near the ancient city-kingdom of Amathus and became important in the Middle Ages: Richard I of England landed there in 1191, defeated Isaac Komnenos and married Berengaria of Navarre in the town. Today it is a centre of shipping, tourism and the wine trade.
