Livonian Chronicle of Henry

c. 1227 · 13th century · Also known as Chronicle of Henry of Livonia, Heinrici Chronicon Livoniae

The Livonian Chronicle of Henry is a Latin chronicle of the conquest and conversion of Livonia and Estonia by German crusaders, written around 1225–1227 by Henry of Livonia, a priest who took part in the events. Covering the years from about 1180 to 1227, it is the main written source for the pre-Christian Livonians, Latvians and Estonians, their lands, wars and beliefs.
