Lualaba
The Lualaba is the upper course of the Congo River, flowing north through the south-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo from the Katanga highlands to Boyoma Falls near Kisangani, below which it is called the Congo. In the 19th century its banks, with trading towns such as Nyangwe and Kasongo, were a base of Swahili-Arab traders, and Henry Morton Stanley followed it to the sea in 1876–1877.
