Boyoma Falls

Also known as Stanley Falls

Boyoma Falls, formerly Stanley Falls, are a series of seven cataracts on the Lualaba, where it becomes the Congo River, stretching about 100 kilometres near Kisangani in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Named after Henry Morton Stanley, they gave their name to a station and district of the Congo Free State, whose governor from 1887 was Tippu Tip, and to the town of Stanleyville, now Kisangani.
