Madina Mayurqa

903–1229 · 10th century · Also known as Medina Mayurqa

Madina Mayurqa was the Arabic name of the city now called Palma, capital of Majorca under Muslim rule from 903 to 1229. It served as the seat of the Taifa of Majorca after 1076 and was sacked by a Pisan and Catalan fleet in 1115. James I of Aragon captured it in 1229, after which it became the Christian city of Palma.
