Mala Khortytsia
Mala Khortytsia is a small island in the Dnieper river at Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, west of the larger island of Khortytsia. Around 1552 Prince Dmytro Vyshnevetsky built a wooden fortress there, whose remains have been excavated, and it is often seen as the site of the first Zaporozhian Sich. It is also called Baida Island after him.
