Mambari
The Mambari were traders from the Ovimbundu kingdoms of the central highlands of Angola, and people of mixed Portuguese and African descent, who travelled inland to the upper Zambezi in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. They exchanged cloth, beads and guns for ivory, wax and slaves, linking Barotseland and other inland kingdoms to the Atlantic trade through Benguela.
