Märklin is a German toy company founded in 1859 by Theodor Friedrich Wilhelm Märklin in Göppingen, Württemberg, at first making tin accessories for dolls' houses. In 1891 it introduced standard track gauges for clockwork model railways, and it became one of the world's best-known makers of model trains. The company is still based in Göppingen.
