Masmak Fort

Also known as Al Masmak

Masmak Fort is a clay and mud-brick fortress in the old centre of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, built in the second half of the 19th century. In January 1902 the young Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud and a small band of followers captured it from the Rashidi governor, a raid that began the creation of modern Saudi Arabia. It is now a museum.
