Treaty of Darin
The Treaty of Darin was signed on 26 December 1915 on the island of Tarut between Britain, represented by Percy Cox, and Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud. Britain recognised his rule over Najd and al-Hasa and placed his lands under its protection, in return for his promise not to deal with other powers; he also received a subsidy. It was superseded by the Treaty of Jeddah in 1927.
