Mastarna

6th century BCE · 6th century BCE · Also known as Macstrna

Mastarna (Etruscan Macstrna) was an Etruscan warrior shown in the François Tomb at Vulci freeing Caelius Vibenna. The emperor Claudius, in a speech preserved on the Lyon Tablet, identified him with Servius Tullius, the sixth king of Rome, citing Etruscan sources that made him Vibenna's companion who settled in Rome and changed his name.
