Mayombe
Mayombe is a region of low mountains and dense rainforest along the Atlantic coast of west-central Africa, stretching across the Cabinda enclave of Angola, the Kongo Central province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo. It is the home of the Yombe, a Kongo-speaking people known for their carved figures. Its forests supplied timber, ivory and other goods to the coastal kingdoms.
