Menabe
Menabe was a Sakalava kingdom on the west coast of Madagascar, founded in the seventeenth century by the Maroserana dynasty. Its rulers built their power on cattle, warfare and trade, and relatives of the dynasty founded the northern Sakalava kingdom of Boina. Merina armies campaigned against it from the 1820s but never fully subdued it before the French conquest.
