Mengo
Mengo is a hill in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and the site of the Lubiri, the palace of the kabakas of Buganda, from the 1880s. The name came to stand for the government of Buganda itself. In May 1966 troops under Idi Amin, on the orders of Milton Obote, stormed the palace, forcing Kabaka Mutesa II into exile and ending the kingdom's autonomy.
