Millenarianism
Millenarianism is the belief in a coming transformation of the world that will bring about a new age of justice and salvation. Millenarian movements often inspired popular uprisings in times of crisis. In the late Han Dynasty, the Yellow Turban Rebellion of 184 CE was a millenarian Taoist uprising that seriously weakened the dynasty.
