Moore Town
Moore Town is the main Windward Maroon community of Jamaica, in the Rio Grande valley of the parish of Portland, below the Blue Mountains. It succeeded Nanny Town, the stronghold of the Maroon leader Nanny, and holds her grave. Its people keep the Kromanti language, songs and drumming, recognised by UNESCO as part of the intangible heritage of humanity.
