Second Maroon War
The Second Maroon War of 1795 to 1796 was a conflict in Jamaica between the Maroons of Trelawny Town and the British colonial government under the Earl of Balcarres. After months of guerrilla fighting in the Cockpit Country, the Maroons surrendered on terms, but the colonial authorities deported about 600 of them to Nova Scotia; most later moved on to Sierra Leone in 1800.
