Trelawny Town
Trelawny Town was the principal town of the Leeward Maroons in the Cockpit Country of western Jamaica, renamed after Governor Edward Trelawny, who signed the peace treaty of 1739 with Cudjoe. After the Second Maroon War of 1795 to 1796 its people were deported to Nova Scotia, and the site became a military post, later known as Maroon Town.
