c. 980 · 10th century

Trelleborg is a Viking Age ring fortress near Slagelse on Zealand, Denmark, built around 980 under King Harald Bluetooth. Its circular rampart, divided into four quarters with uniform longhouses, follows the same plan as Fyrkat, Aggersborg and the other Danish ring forts. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Viking Age ring fortresses.
