Danes
The Danes are the North Germanic people of Denmark. In the Viking Age Danish armies raided and conquered much of England and settled the Danelaw, and from the 12th century the Danish kingdom expanded into the Baltic, ruling northern Estonia until 1346. Later the Danes held overseas colonies in India, on the Gold Coast, in the Caribbean and in Greenland, and they long ruled Norway and the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein.
