Namutoni

Also known as Fort Namutoni

Namutoni is a fort on the eastern edge of the Etosha Pan in northern Namibia, built by German colonial troops at a spring around 1900. On 28 January 1904 Ovambo warriors of Nehale lyaMpingana attacked it, and its small garrison abandoned the fort. It was rebuilt and is now a rest camp in Etosha National Park.
