Neches River

The Neches River is a river of East Texas in the United States that flows south-east through the Piney Woods to Sabine Lake near the Gulf of Mexico. Its upper valley and that of its tributary, the Angelina, were the heartland of the Hasinai Caddo, among whom Spain founded its first East Texas missions in 1690.
