New Ross
New Ross is a town on the River Barrow in County Wexford, in south-east Ireland. It was developed around 1200 by William Marshal, lord of Leinster, as a port, and became one of the leading harbours of medieval Ireland. During the 1798 rebellion it was the scene of a major battle in which government troops repulsed the United Irishmen.
