Niue

Niue is a raised coral island in the South Pacific, east of Tonga, one of the largest coral islands in the world. It became a British protectorate in 1900, was annexed to New Zealand with the Cook Islands in 1901 and given its own administration in 1904. Since 1974 it has been self-governing in free association with New Zealand.
