Nivelles

Nivelles is a town in Walloon Brabant, Belgium, south of Brussels. It grew around an abbey founded about 650 by Itta, widow of Pepin of Landen, and her daughter Saint Gertrude, whose Romanesque collegiate church, consecrated in 1046, still dominates the town. In the Middle Ages it was the main French-speaking town of the Duchy of Brabant.
