Nobades
The Nobades were a people of Lower Nubia, south of Roman Egypt, who appear in sources from the late third century. According to Procopius, Diocletian withdrew the frontier to Philae around 298 and settled them in the Nile valley beyond it as a buffer against the Blemmyes. They later formed the kingdom of Nobadia, which adopted Christianity in the sixth century.
